Sore Throat for 5 Months?

Have had sore throat for 5 months now. When I wake up in the morning, it`s ok, but later the day it gets sore. Do I have to worry? Can anyone relate? Going to a ear-nose-throat dr. later this month, but still think it could be "you know".

sjob,There are a MILLION other things that could cause a sore throat. It could be GERD or something. Maybe that's why you get it during the day because it is triggerred by eating. I don't know just one example, but don't waste your energy worrying about the most unlikely scenarios when there are so many other harmless explanations. -Matt

I've had that a lot, together with a crackling voice. Was worried if it was bulbar onset (of course......) and wanted to post it..read Point 1 in the signature of Mario and decided that it is what it is...a sore throat. Anxiety makes the whole throat very "tight" and it takes me more "pressure" to speak. Most likely that's the reason. Widespread twitching is not at all typical for early onset ALS. A sore throat is not typical for bulbar onset ALS. Body-wide twitching ALS-onset and untypical bulbar onset without weakness at the same time...come on...
