Small White Matter Lesions on MRI - Need Advice

In anyone's work-up to date, have you been told that you have very small non-specific white matter lesions on your head MRI? I had this result recently. Was told 10% of normal population at my age have these. Was hoping of course for a completely normal MRI. My clinical exam was totally normal. Trying not to be anxious - know it makes the symptoms worse, but would love some feedback.Cheers,J

I've been told that my mri's were normal, including one last week. However, my 1st MRI, which was about 16 years ago, (when they were relatively new), had some type of "spot". My neuro said he had waited to get back to me about the results as he needed to discuss it with the radiologist to see if it was of any significance--my later ones didn't show this spot or spot(s). He also told me at that time that a personal friend of his had an MRI and a few white spots showed up and the friend became needlessly worried and they repeated the text in 6 months to ease his mind. They either found no changes or no spots, I can't remember, but it did turn out to be nothing of any concern. I would ask your doctor the significance of these findings. It doesn't sound like they're too concerned so I doubt it's serious. Please keep us posted. Best Wishes, Denise

Hi thereWhen I had my MRI back in October they found a small non specific "spot". The Dr did a spinal tap to rule out MS (it came back normal). He then told me that a bad migraine can cause spots. I suffer from migraines so I figured that was why.Do you suffer from migraines?
