Only 6 days to go till my first Neuro appointment and i am trying to stay positive (really i am :D) )Its seems unlikely that i am going to get an EMG when i go but i should be some nearer to finding out what i have, remember i have not even had a clinical yet !Its been 10 1/2 Weeks since this all strarted so you would think if it was anything nasty then it would have said hello in a bigger way by now wouldnt you? or maybe 10 1/2 weeks is still early days??I have come to this conclusion, the twitches are not a problem, they are popcorning away in my calfs as we speak but its kinda nice lol. Its the worry, the constant constant worry that goes with it, that i know ALL of us on this site have been through and still are.I only hope when i go that he finds nothing else wrong, eg my reflexes, i have never had them tested before so who knows.... as this is posted in the questions about BFS section i better chuck in a question :D) ...I have noticed that when i clench my toes on my right foot...after i unclench them my big toes seems to wiggle a few times by itself after it...it this clonus??Well there is my daily question !Thanks allChris

Chris, here's my advice for you on your upcoming appt. It's the same advice I give to everyone at the start of their journey.Once your neuro clears you of having the big nasty, accept it. Because if you don't accept it right there and right then, you are never going to accept it. In my experience most people only get one chance to believe their doctors. Either it happens right at the start, or it never happens at all. So make sure you go into your neuro appt with that mindset. That will make things much easier on you.

Mario.....I totally totally agree with you, and you know what i will take what ever he says and run with it...i have to for the sake of my marriage and sanity. IF i get the all clear after a clinical i will ask if he thinks i need an EMG but if he adimantly says no then i will accept that and leave it at that.Do you have any theory on my wiggling big toe by the way :)Chris

Yes, you are clearly possessed by a dwarf or a small toad, and it is living in your toe and driving you crazy. In other words, no. If I had a theory on why BFS did anything to any of us, I would be able to cure all of us. Your toe is just f'ed up. It spasms when you exert it. That's how BFS do.

Chris IGNORANCE is a BLISS- dont look up anything on reflexes just let your doctor do what he is going to do because being tense and having anxiety CAN make your reflexes brisk. I had 3+ through out (which is normal) they basically say as long as they are symmetrical. However 4+ can be a concern BUT doesnt have to be. I had a dr. he had 4+ reflexes through out. Again relax through your exam and ask questions at the end. I am sure your neuro will make comments through out to relax you.Lovely
