This sounds very similar to other posts on this site.

I think you have to trust the opinion of your doctor - or find someone else you do trust. If you read all the posts on this site you will find lost of people with concerns like yours.

I have often found myself doubting the diagnosis - I find the best thing is to get on with your life, to be thankful for what you have and try not to dwell on it. From my own experieince if one visit to a neuro doesn[t help - nor will the second or the third. You always want one more. it works for a few days - then the doubt comes back.

I am not sure if this is much help - if there was an easy answer this website probably wouldn't exist. At least you know you are not alone

Best wishes

Hi,

I am sure you have typical BFS, it really sounds like it. You've got a clean EMG and you've been twitching for 7 months now. And your twitching started in the eyelid, like mine. It's a very common place for BFS to start. I know exactly what you're going through. Since I started twitching in June/July 02, I've been driving myself crazy with anxiety. Each time I started to believe that I had nothing serious, a new symptom showed up and all my fears flared up again.
My latest flare-up ended yesterday with another neuro visit. I really hope I'm over it for good this time.
The thing is, that as long as you're scared, you'll get new symptoms. The brain is very powerful and you will have 2 kinds of symptoms:
1) little aches and pains, that you've always felt from time to time but that freak you out now because you're afraid of having a serious disease
2) symptoms you've never had before that come up because your whole body is in a state of tension and your nerves are over-exited
Whenever I got scared, I would get loads of symptoms within a couple of days. When I was less worried, I had less symptoms.
I know it's very difficult, but you have to stop worrying and get on with life.
I just lost a year of my life to anxiety (because before the twitching started, I was worried because of headaches) and I'm lucky my sweetheart's still with me because I've not been a lot of fun recently.
Hang on in here, this site can be of great help.
Take care.
