Similar Health Symptoms and Ears Issues

I find your post very interesting and your condition similar to mine. My symptoms started six months ago with lightheadedness/ dizziness. Two months later, and a lot of anxiety, I had fasciculation’s.

I’ve had, amongst other tests, and MRI and CT that show really bad sinusitis and fluid filled ears. Also, I’ve been around a tremendous amount of gun fire. In short – my ears are really bad! I hear loud ringing intermittently and soft ringing all the time, occasionally my earls will pop or crackle for no apparent reason. I’ve had my hearing checked and I can hear very well.

Have you had an MRI or CT recently to show sinus and Eustachian tube condition?

Vertigo caused by Eustachian tube dysfunction may cause excessive stress on the adrenal system and heightened anxiety. In my case EXTREME anxiety.

Thanks to all that have responded. Keep em' coming!:)
Reassurance is always wonderful and feedback is educational as well. To TrisTrip, I have had an MRI w/ contrast within 3 months. It was normal other than a cyst found in the sinus area. This did not mean much to the radiologist or the Dr. I also do not experience true vertigo it is lighheadedness. Coincidentally or maybe not, I suffer from minor sinus issues bad hearing and lots of post nasal drip to boot.

Best,
J

O-my-god.

I've got a cyst found in the sinus area too. Also I was told nothing to worry about (Harvard Medical Radiologist with lots of experence) but that it could make my ears/ sunuses feel much worse along with the virtigo.

Have you tried Flonase for your cyst - it should shrink it down and maybe you'd feel less lightheaded.

TrisTrip:

My cyst is a relatively new development and has not changed or affected my lightheadedness which is not a new symptom of mine. I figure it is not a big deal but you never know I guess. I am prone to cysts and lipomas as well. No one seems to think they are part ot my symptoms. Just more information.

I have sinus cysts as well.

I would recommed staying away from the Flonase (or similar), unless you REALLY need it. Though mild, they are corticosteroids, which are known to potentially promote twitching and/or stimulating anxiety-producing hormones in the body. The amounts in the nasal sprays are SO small, but in my case at least, the spray made very little difference.

Hi Jittery,
My symptoms are very similar with yours. Everything started after a sexual oral-intercourse during which I contracted genital herpes. Two months after that, I developed a kind of mononucleosis syndrome, with enlarged lymph nodes (some kind of tonsilitis), high fever, upset stomach, and no response to antibiotics. I was teriffied so much for HIV. This illness passed but what remained it was an every day dizziness for more than 6 months. Some days it was better some days it was worst. I was convinced so much about HIV, that I start googling all day about that. After 6 monts, during a very stressful weekend and after the ending of an antibiotics I took, I experienced a constant internal tremor in my whole body, balance problems, pins and needles in my feet and arms. One month later, I developed rahses on my elbows that looked like Lyme or Lupus. I finally went to the doctor. Actually many doctors..... My tests:
1. HIV 1 and 2 test: negative
2. ANA slightly elevated although the rheumatologists told be that it is not Lupus.
3. MRI with and without contrast (both brain and spinal cord): normal
4. Lyme test (I do not know details): negative
5. HSV-1 and Epstein-Barr IgG: positive that shows an old infection.
I did not have a clear diagnosis. A doctor mentioned Peripheral Nerve Hyperexcitability, and two others health-related anxiety.
After that, my condition is the same, some times worst, some times beter:
My symptoms:
Dizziness
Fine Internal tremor in my whole body
Internal "earthquaqes", like somebody is kicking from inside.
Nausea and Vertigo
Muscle fasciluations but not so many and not so frequenctly
Pins and needles
External Tremor on my hands
Balance Problems.
I am trying to find an anwer by myself, since I work as researcher in human brain. I have plans to be checked up once more, though I have been bored all these doctors that do not have any idea what it is happening with my body.
I hope you the best.

Hi Christos

I have that same collection of symptoms altogether except for nausea, however you can throw in irritable bowels to take the place of that :)

I am not a brain researcher although my field of study does require me to read a certain amount of brain research, it also requires me to have some understanding of psychology.

I am not happy with Dr's either, essentially because over here they operate in a rather financially and bureacratically constrained way, which means that a patient is rarely treated in a holistic way, and certainly not according to the recommended guidelines either as they are impossible to meet for the average person.

No wonder I am a pessimist.

What I do have figured though is that I have a collection of symptoms, which may have very seperate and different etiologies, the only meeting point being that none of them are helped by anxiety especially when there are always nasty possibilities for them all.

I do buy into a nerve excitability, Long ago I developed the thery that there is a lot of "noise" in my nervous system, that is to say random activity that in a less responsive person is "squelched" or filtered out.

I have that in my vision for sure, possibly it accounts for tinnitus too, and could well account for my propensity to twitch and my periodic heart arythmias.

It does not account for the parasthesias, these are most likely plain old fashioned entrapment neuropathies such as one might expect with aging hypermobile body that doesn't want to do tricks anymore.

However none of that stops me worrying about *LS or the notion of some toxic effect caused by something even worse even though the sensible odds are against that.

Thanks PlayfulPants for your post and your encourage.
The last few days, I have been terified so much about young onset Parkinson, since I have all these fuc.... symptoms.
I have been examined by two Neurologists so far, but during this time, I did not have all these, and I did not mention them the possibility of PD, so I am still scared.
Last night, I took sleeping pil (Stilnox), and I have observed that when I get this my symptoms are worst, and additionaly I have all day very bad sleepiness and fatigue.
I found many physicians here in this website and to be honest I am seriously thinking of an open invitation for research about our syndrome.

John,

Kinda sounds like a fibromyalgia thing. Me thinks a rheumatologist is in order. You symptoms sound like an auto-immune thing. I am no expert in the autoimmune arena but our condition shares many things in common with fibro. Be sure that they run and ANA titer.

Hope all works out well for you. PM me if you want to talk more.

Ed

Eddy,I am in the process of revisiting the ANA test as well as others. I have since been diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis, so I suppose in my case Autoimmune is the likely explanation. I will revisit all Rhematologist bloodwork once a year. So far no abnormalities other than the mild elevation of antithyroid antiobodies. Thanks,JJittery

Numbness/Tingling Arms and Legs feel weak and funny. (This is perceived weakness) -Yes, get this, it feels like you're trying to walk normally but your legs have their own idea. This is what originally made me wonder about MS.Arms and Legs feel extremely heavy - Yes, left arm used to feel "flubbery" but I don't notice it so much now. Noticeable when trying to scratch my nose with my left hand whilst driving.I feel like I have poor circulation in shoulders as well. - Yes, also wake up in night with pins and needles in hands /arms/fingers. also parts of my body go to sleep easily, when crossing legs for too long for instance.Shakiness/Nervousness/Trembling - Go through phases when it's worse than others. If I'm stressed it's much worse.Widespread Muscle Spasms and vibrations - Yes, nearly throw my cup of tea over myself sometimes. Vibrations in legs feel like an electric current.Easily and Tremendously Fatigued. - Afraid so but I quite often forget it's my BFS and just think it's me getting unfit.Reflexes are over exaggerated. I am very jumpy. - See cup of tea above. I also went through a phase when vibrations really bothered me (touching something that was vibrating...not talking about anything rude here!) and I got hypersensitive to smell.Coordination and dexterity seems off. - Sometimes I feel very clumsy, drop things, bump into things, trip over things, can't screw tops on bottles easily etc.Muscle Joint Pain and burning sensations. - Sore joints and sometimes very clicky like I've suddeny gone arthritic but then it goes away.
