hi,I'm having cramps in my hand right and mainly my pinkie, is feels like it is becoming weaker, this mostly is a sign of *** isn't it? Someone else has this? help

This is not a sign. This could be something as simple as a ulnar nerve issue. I know, I had this and it was annoying but no more than that. Sounds distinctly unlikely for ALS.......Stay Well....

Hey, 123LostSoul456...yeah, you. Instead of trolling around this forum why don't you go somewhere else! You are completely useless, haven't a clue what you are talking about, and your intent here is malicious. It is pretty sad, because there have been way better posers than you. However, it is easy to spot them, because let's face it if you have nothing better to do than go to websites with "syndromes" and "ailments" then you lead a pathetic life. No doubt your charm and intelligence atrophied a long time ago. That's CIA: Charm Intelligence Atrophy. Look it up. It is very serious and leads to having no friends, not even cyber ones.Smell ya later.Basso

Basso, you are attacking everybody who says something you write it is not true...that is sad. Even saying 123LostSoul456' intentions are malicious..stupid, have you read his questions when he was scared to death? He only wrote the minimum what you should remember from your school biology lessons about motor neuron diseases - that it often begins in small muscles on the hand. That is all..so no need for you to behave as a communist who dont accepts any other thoughts.

You just can't say a thing here without being attacked by EyeoftheWild!I will tell you something and this is the truth because I really had it with you. You have your own vision and nobody else can say something but you know:- yes when ALS hits hands first it's in the fingers by cramping and weakness- yes there are EMG that are clean but later dx with ALS but happens only in 0.05 % of the cases- yes some people twitch a couple of months before weakness, reports until 11 monthsWhy do you want to blow this info away, it's not to scare anyone. If you have a board like this you have to have an HONEST board with all the facts, reports, stories. Only your opinion counts and if someone says something you don't want to hear you shout at them. Why do all the same questions come back over and over again, yes because people read other things to and see that they are conflicting with what's been said here. the truth is: 95 % = twitching with no weakness is ok, but you have other cases: 5% rare or not they exist. Stop ignoring them but analyze them it would ease people more than just say they do not exist.

GuysPlease remember that Lostboy has been on here for some time and in Nov 2008 he had been twitching for 8 months!!! I tried to reassure him but he will not be told!! It has not started with a small muscle in his hand, it has been all over and still we go round in circles with this.I am as guilty as others with needing reassurance but I try. Lostboy needs to stop going on ALS sites and either listen to us or go somewhere else for reassurance as he is going to drag some people down here...Sorry if it is harsh, but it needs to be said!!

you know I can post each medical case here. But I don't won't to upset anyoneAbout the hand thing, not my orignal post but FreddieTheFoxs. And Basso if you really think all this is bull you live on another planet

123LostSoul456, this makes me freaking out again...if 0,05 % of clean emg turn out to be als then i maybe belong it this category!? even more when yesterday i started to get outer hand fascics!? 8 months into this, had two clean emg.i don't really believe that, not with generalised twitching. an emg without signs of denervation and/or reinervation is not als i have been told by my neuro from the als-clinic. sure, there are exceptions as to every thing, but 0,05 of 100 sounds more than an exception to me. maybe they misinterpreted the emg, but i am sure it was dirty...!?i am also for the truth and have asked for it several times. but sometimes it is better to hold back something. the tricky thing about your reply to the orginal poster is, that you don't give him the reassurance he was looking for, but tell him, that he might have als...that is quite nasty and doesn't serve him at all...

my right hand sort of cramps, my wrist hurts and my arm is sore upon my shoulderIs this to worry? I've the feeling I can't grab things as well anymore

FreddieTheFox... we have similar symptoms. My hands kind of cramp and wrist hurts and forearm feels tight all the way up to shoulder. My symptoms are on and off are yours? I am thinking my cramps are due to not enough water since I am breastfeeding and just gave birth... the cramps subside a bit when I drink some gatorade. But I also have some weird finger twitches going on that seem to start at the wrist and it's quite freaky but they are not constant... I just seem more aware of them these days.

I'd listen to angus lover guys. Sounds like it could be ulnar nerve problem. I've been getting that a lot lately. Do you ever have tingling or numbness in your hand when you wake up? I get that *beep* near every night.

As for 123LostSoul456 vs EyeoftheWild...Lostboy: By your own statistic you say that 99.95% of clean EMGs will never progress to anything else. Why the !@#$ would you even acknowledge that other 00.05%? That's called an insanely rare exception of an already rare disease.FreddieTheFox has been twitching for well over a year, has had a clean EMG and has been checked out by doctors. A rare disease + clean EMG + no profound weakness + a year = no friggin ALS. Cramping in the hand can be caused by literally hundreds of things; carpal/ulnar tunnell, over exertion, magnesium deficiency, vitamin imbalance, lack of calcium, thyroid problems, arthritis, etc. Why the hell would you tell someone who is worried about ALS but clearly doesn't have it that it's how ALS presents? It's crazy.

Worried--lol bout the pink hands thing. And yeah, I know how you feel. Especially seeing your thenar muscle is similar to mine. Either we're both done for or we're fine. Statistically speaking, I think we're fine.
