Shaky Fingers, Jittery Feeling, Twitching

Mine were stiff little fingers (isn't that a rock band  ) and a jittery, shaky feeling. the twitching started a couple of weeks after that

My worst symptom however, is my uncontrollable urge to type three little letters into google and then survey the results - wonder if i can get a pill for that ;)

Mine was a twitching right knee 24/7 for about a week ( a year ago ) then it spread to the whole body, then 8 months later pins and needles in groin area, legs etc etc....

This started about amonth after a rather bad flu.

Mine started with twitches just a few days after I began riding my new stationary bike. They started in my calves, but within a couple of days spread throughout my entire body and have not looked back since.

In April 2004...a twitch in my left upper eyelid.
That has , to put it mildly.. progressed.

But I now think I had an earlier symptom that I just ignored..or shrugged off
-A very slight intermittent twitching in my thumbs and index fingers as far back as 3 or 4 years ago.

Oddly, I have had several exacerbations of this over the years, (before I knew it was bfs...) but my earliest symptom was twitching and numbness in the-errrr, umm area, lol.

Then last year when I STILL didn't know it was bfs, I began with a hot-spot, a fairly regular twitch under my rib cage. I thought it was a heart palpitation, except that it was about 1/2 foot below my heart (duh to me.)

Then I got a sinus infection and full blown bfs with severe perceived weakness came upon me like a bulldozer.

Me too LisaLM. I mean in my privates, or my pwivates as I like to cutely call it. We were obviously brought up in a similar way because my mom insisted on me calling my elbow my privates too. Oops, sorry for revealing your pwivates to everyone.

Cheers,
Basso

BTW, my elbows still twitch,.

Hmmm- I wonder if that is why my Mom always told me to keep my er-ummm elbows off the dinner table!

One of the great mysteries of my life, solved! Thanks to Saint Basso.

Mine started with a lip spasm. I was driving in my car and drinking a foo foo frozen coffee thru a straw and my lip started to spasm. All I could think at that point was - I remember a story about a girl who had a twitch and it was ***- Mind you- I am sure that there was MUCH more to the story, but that was all my mind registered. So I began to browse the internet and searching about ***. I thought that I didn't have it at first because I could walk, talk fine, I had a lip spasm, that was it. I had read that fasics are NOT the presenting symptom. I breathed easier. But, I still looked it up every single day, and my lip got worse and worse and worse. I started to wonder if I was walking right, and was I slurring my words? I was sure I was. I woke up in the middle of the night shaking all over and I started to cry, which . My calf was twitching, my hand was twitching, my arm felt weak when I would change the television station with the RC. I thought to myself- well, this is it, I am a goner now. So I woke up after no sleep and went to my parents house. I was so sick with the flu that they wouldn't let me go home, because I was preggers and had two little children to watch. So I stayed with them and they took care of me and my kids for 3 days. I was so tired I couldn't talk, or so it felt. I started to get better, but I was soooo tired and my face began to hurt. I have TMJ and I know it was aggravated by the flu I had. My lip twitch scared me so badly I couldn't eat or drink- I lost 8 pounds and I was pregnant! I can't lose eight pounds ever! Funny thing was when I went to the doc and showed him the spasm I asked if it worried him and he said NOPE> ever since that moment it went away- althought it pops up every now and then just for fun. Aren't you so glad you asked?

Annoying finger and thumb twitch at first, then generally feeling a bit odd. Leaning forward and taking my weight on my arms made them shake. Then calves, thighs and arms started twitching. Crouching made me shake. Then the eye twitch (lower), then chin/lip which lasted a long time, and the hot feeling on my left arm. Then random twitching, and calves and feet and left foot cramps. Feeling weak and feeble but not actually being weak. Feeling a bit clumsy and stiff. Big toe moves about on left foot too! Feelings like electric currents running from my groin and down my legs when in bed.

Holding the computer mouse in a certain position makes my hand shake, stretching my fingers on the keyboard can make my finger shake.

Get hot spots, sometimes these are quite strong, so much so that I actually heard one on the top my shoulder when I was in bed!

Seem to get more left side symptoms than right.

Get good days and bad days, good weeks and bad weeks. Fun isn't it!

I everyone. I can't tell you how relieved I am to have found out about BFS and these forums. I started having problems about six weeks ago. I was not sick before the symtoms started, but my 16 year old son was in a rather bad car accident and I was very stressed out after that. I am still stressed everytime he leaves the house. My husband thinks that the stress from the accident may have started my twitching. My first symtoms were an index finger twitch and have tremor for an entire weekend. It drove me crazy because it kept me up at night that first weekend. Then it kind of moved up my arm with the twitching ending up in my elbow area with stiffness and not really weakness, but an unsureness in my arm. That was the next weekend, again I was up at night, partly because of the physical symtoms and partly because I was sure I had Parkinsens, MS or ***. I went to my Chiropractor thinking that maybe I had a pinched nerve, which I have suffered from most of my adult life. She wasn't sure what it was, but I went to her a couple times and the symtoms didn't go away, but I sure felt better. Then the twitching moved to my calves, stomach, scalp, face and whereever they felt like. Well by this time I know something wasn't right. I don't really have a doctor because I haven't been sick for years, so I made an appointment with a nurse practioner who specializes in chronic pain/muscular diseases. When I finally got in she did am exam and she suggested that I might have BFS. I had never heard about it before and she gave me literature to read up on it. I am so thankful that she did. When I started doing research it gave me some relief. I do longer think I have MS or ***. She told me to call her if the symtoms don't go away and she would refer me to a neurologist and he would run some test to rule out some of the other disorders. My symtoms are good some days and then others it seems they won't let up. I don't have any problems with the exercise intolerance, which is good because I walk a lot and do weight training. Both doctors suggested that I take yoga classes to learn to relax. It is funny because I get stressed thinking about when I will find time to take a class. I am not sure if I will have any further testing done unless things get worse. Thanks for all your updates.

mine started i think with a cramp and tired arm, then the arm became spastic, later in sept i began to twitch, then all over with cramps. I went on internet and that was it . rollercoaster ride ever since to this day. the only good thing about the internet was stummbling on this site. thank god for that.
