Shaking During Exercise: Need Advice

Hello, i've posted about this before, but now i decided to post a little more detailed thread about my symtoms.. (Sorry for asking things again but cant get enough of reassurance).Well.. Some months ago i noticed i shaked when i did excercises, not really buzzing, but shaking in my muscle that's in use, really noticable shaking. You know the kind of shaking when you're really exhausted, when you are doing the last pushups on the gym? Thats the shaking im talking about..I have this shaking even if i havent done a excercise, for example when i reach down for a paper on the floor, my stomach and back starts to shake, the muscles..And when doing the first situps i shake alot, i mean, ALOT. But when i've done about 20 situps the shaking in my stomach is nearly gone. This occurs in my whole body.. limbs, stomach, back and stuff.. and its really annoying since it happens in every small move i do, like turning the head to look for something..And ofcourse i got twitches, that i've had for almost the same time, all over the body.My biggest questions:Have anybody heard of PLS? A kind of ALS which has a less signifiant muscle weakness and atrophy, and the first symptoms is: Muscle Twitches, Muscle Tremors and similiar, but the weakness is not mentioned. Scientists actually think that this is another disease, only similiar to ALS.And if you have, does the shaking starts in one area or in the whole body? (Mine started in my whole body, at same)Also, the shaking in PLS, would it be the kind of shaking im describing?Does anyone have any similiar shaking? Well, not really similiar, but exactly?Im really thankful for indepth answers, with alot of information, but ofcourse any answer on this thread is welcome, but do not steal my thread  Thanks in advance Nyzaph

Nyzaph, I have the exact same tremors going on...I wake up in the morning and I feel as if my whole body is shaking. I don't know if it is the fine twitching of the muscles that is causing these tremor feelings or if it is actually body tremors. For instance, as I type this post I feel as if I can't pinpoint the keys on the keyboard because my arms are shaking. I get this feeling of trembling mostly in my arms but I also get it in my legs and shoulders. Anyway, no I've never heard of PLS but I will bring it up at my doctors visit next week. Also just a backround on how my symptoms started are as follows:12/1/08-----persistant right eyelid twitch (still have it to present)12/15/08------migratory muscle twitching throughout the entire body (still have it present)12/20/08------body tremors (mostly in arms)present--------all of the above...tremors have increasedHope to hear how youre doing...give me a shout or PM mail message, maybe we can trade some medical backround history such as past meds and whatnot.

I think PLS is incredibly rare and I have heard it said that this is what Stephen Hawkin has (rather than ALS) although I think PLS tends to occur in an older age group. From the little I know of PLS, it presents with symptoms indistinguishable from ALS but progresses very slowly such that people tend to die with it rather than of it. I do'nt believe it causes tremor although balance disturbance does occur.Ever since I can remember I get trembling muscles at maximal exertion but since developing BFS this phenomenon has occurred with much less provokation. I had just assumed that it was my BFS causing this.Good luckGreetings from new ZealandSimon

Thanks for your replys! Does your tremors occur even if you're not exhausted, if you're just reaching, or raising from bed? Mine are >.<..Also i have this lesser stiffness in my right arm, which makes my fingers move slower, not much tho.

Simon, i've had balance issues for about 3 years now, this dizzyness or what i should call it, but would ive noticed more serious things if it was PLS? I have no problem standing on one leg etcetera, or, can stand for about 10 seconds with my eyes closed ^^.. Thanks again!

Hi NyzaphMy BFS causes twitches even when I'm not exhausted. Im afraid I don't know enough about dizziness and balance disorders to comment on your other question but if you can stand on one leg and stand with your eyes closed for 10 seconds this sounds very reassuring. It sounds most unlike PLS from the little that I know. I do'nt know if your family doctor or neurologist have checked these symptoms out for you but I guess going to see one of them might help get to the root of the problem. I hope that you are feeling better soon.Good luckSimon

Hello again and thanks for the reply, i have been to a doctor 3 months ago becuase of my twitches (when they started), but i didnt had tremors back then, and neither stiffness in my right arm. Well, yes i can stand on one leg for a long time if i just focus, so i dont guess i got any serious balance issues..Tho the stiffness and tremors are REALLY annoying. btw, im sitting infront of the computer much, infact i have a laptop in school. Thanks in advance! (again)Nyzaph

Hi Nyzaph. Hope you're having a good weekend. I read your comment about computer use and the fact that this could be relevant to your stiffness and tremor. I think this is a very good point and overuse can certainly cause a lot of annoying symptoms. It sounds as if your symptoms have changed a bit since you originally saw your doctor so I'm sure s/he will be ahappy to check you over a second time. Hope it all turns out ok and I look forward to hearing how you get on.RegardsSimon
