My personal opinion is that twitching is because of irritation within muscles. It could be a result of chemical imbalance, anxiety, etc. That is why I believe that so many people having cramping to go along with your twitching. The things that help me with my calf cramping are hot baths (with epson salts), hot compresses, stretching and light exercise (like walking or yoga to loosen up the muscles) if possible. You can also try things like mineral spirits, medications and phsyical therapy. All in all there are possibly hundred of different techniques that people use. You just have to try different things out and see what helps.
