Sensory Tricks for Dystonia Relief

Hi everyone, last week I was in hospital and i read some info about dystonia. I read that many dystonia patients can temporarily end their contractions by "sensory tricks", that is touching the area (holding a hand on it or a gentle massage). Some can even end it by just imagine touhing the area involved. it doesn't help if anyone else touches. This was interessting for me to read because SOMETIMES (mostly not I think) I can end series of fasciculations by touching the area or gentle massage it, and I can make paresthesias milder by rubbing my skin, and it helps with massage etc from others as well, but just there and then..If a muscle starts buzzing/vibrating or tremoring, I can also SOMETIMES stop it my holding a hand firmly on the involved area. "Healing"?? haha. no, seriously, have anyone else experiences?Or any other "advises" on how to stop symptoms?

Heat and cold can sometimes work. Sometimes gentle stretching too, although you don't want to overdo it. BFSers are notorious for having funky joint issues.
