Seeking Support for Twitching Issues

Hello,

Basically, I'm really looking for some support. I have been twitching for three and a half years. I also get muscle aches. Never had weakness or anything like that. I work out all the time (run 15-20 miles a week.) I'm 27 years old and the twitches started when I was 23.

Lately, I've really been down in the dumps because I've heard of people getting ALS after YEARS of twitching on these sites. Wouldn't it be highly unlikely to develop ALS after three and a half years of twitching at my age? I haven't done a lot of searching on the net because I'm scared to, so I was wondering if someone who reads this has some info they could share. I would truly appreciate it. I want to get on with life but I have this fear in the back of my head that won't go away. And it seems the more I concentrate, the more I twitch and cramp. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks

Jenn
Honey I would love to be in your shoes, after all of these years of twitching even if you had ALS that would be the slowest progression on earth. Jenn take my advice go back to life as you knew it a forget about any stories you heard my neurologist and a friend who is a neuro looks at me like I am nuts when I tell them some of these stories.

Hi Jenn,
Kerri is right; after three and a half years of twitching without weakness you definitely DO NOT have ALS! Stop reading and listening to anecdotal stories on the internet, they will only fuel your anxiety! Kerri knows this better than anyone on the board and it has taken her a long time to come to grips with her fears. As you can see when see is in a rational frame of mind, she can give out very good advice. Live your life! Good Luck!!
