Seeking Reassurance - Twitching & Swallowing Troubles

Hi I usually come to this forum for reassurance. I wish I could shake my depression. I have been twitching for 4 months, mostly calves and legs but all over. I have a neuro exam next month. I could dismiss it all as nothing but I am right in the age group to be worried (56) and I have experienced some trouble swallowing even before I noticed the twitching.I am still able to function as normal but my legs do feel funny, more tired than usual. Does this sound like what anyone else has experienced?Sandra D

Hi, calves and feet twitching are sooo normal you are probably more abnormal if they dont twitch to be honest. Since i started twitching n these areas 16 months ago i have met and heard of loads of people who just say "yea" and so what and who have had it for years. The only difference is that i was more prone to worry than the average person and at a wild guess i would say you are too.the journey to peace of mind doesnt have to take you the 16 months it took me as those were crazy. lost months that i should never have lived. It will be hard to be logical about this when you are in a heightened state of anxiety so first concentrate on reprogramming your thoughts.Something that worked for me was to become more aware of my thoughts and thought patterns and whenever i heard a negative thought to laugh it off as silly and replace it with something good. May sound a bit simplistic but i assure you that your thought patterns are the source of your problems, not you twitching. You are fine, now go out and enjoy yourself.Rob
