Seeking Neuro for Arm Twitches & Burning Sensation

My fears about *** finally forced me to see a neuro this week.
My GP referred me after I went to her about my twitches a couple of months ago.
With her help and the kind advice on this message board I calmed down for a while.
But problems with a burning sensation in my right hand and arm and a kind of stiffness in my forearm when I type sent me over the edge and she referred me to a neuro.
I went private to speed things up and saw him this week.
I told him my fears based on my hours of internet surfing and he did some reflex tests etc on me.
Afterwards he said there was nothing to give him any 'strong suspicions' that it was *** but it would be sensible to have an EMG because it was a more sensitive tests than those he had done.
He said that in 'frank MND' he would expect to have seen fasics on me in places that I did not know that I had them. He had prodded me in several places in the exam to see if he could see anything.
Anyway I showed him my calves and foot arches which were both dancing away. (I also get other hotspot and random twitches but these are constant).
He said calves were the most common site for BFS.
If anyone has time to reply to this I wonder if you could tell me what I should ask about before or during the EMG to make sure it is thorough.
I am of course terrified of having *** but I am also worried that I could get the 'all clear' and then have doubts that they missed something on the EMG because they didn't do it in the right place or whatever. And then the whole horrible worry cycle could start again.
I know many people on here have had EMGs and any advice would be really appreciated before my test.
Thanks

Hi
When i had my EMG i was told there and then that everything seemed ok,but did not get the results in writing for two weeks. It depends on the person doing the test. i have been told that fasics start in *** after muscle waste so you should be ok. Also your Doctor is correct about BFS being mostly in the calves and feet, mine pop like popcorn, and now i have pain too.
Although saying that, bfs can be all over the body. I have had fasics all over my body.
It sounds like you have tipical BFS so don't worry.

Good luck

Chris
