and feedback.I haven't hit the board for a few days because I just needed to try and deal with the issues. Over the last 2 months I have had very little sleep with anxiety and difficulty with the pain and sensory elements in the backs and front of the calves. Plus I get burning in the hamstrings and buttocks when i sit a long time. I had to go and have a blood test about some trouble with my prostate (men over 40 er!!) long story not for this board (but hey maybe another forum to hit :) ) Which pour fuel on an already big anxiety fire.I went to the doc today and asked him for some tabs to get me through my depression and hopefully help my anxiety and BFS elements. So around an hour ago I took my first citalopram, let's hope it helps me relax. Told the doc I felt a failure for having to take them, but he said congratulations today is the first day on your road to recovery. Put it this way I was going down a bad route with the amount of alcohol i was drinking to try and get some sleep (never helped still woke up in a panic!)But can I say a big thank you to all the people who take the time to think and type such supportive messages, I really, really have been touched by your support. I'll still be around to hopefully try and give some advice and help to others and unlike me they take. Thanks all, take care!!

Peteyou have to give it about 4 weeks to build up so dont think it is not working straight away.Dont feel a failure as you have done the right thing so give it a go and hopefully it be the thing for you.If you get side effects in the beginning dont worry they will subside.

Peter we are here to support and be supported. It pleases me to hear that you doing better. I am on lexapro for anxiety, and it helps me deal with BFS a little better. Mainly because it reduces the associated anxiety a little-takes the edge off it. You are a sensible man for actually asking for help in this area. Many dont....Pete we all have( and will continue to have) our ups and downs with this crap we have. That is the nature of this disease- lets no kid our selves. And we may also have it for ever-that is quite a possibilty as well. If that is to be the case, then we need to try to reduce the down days and increase the up days!! ie Mental and physical management-not simple I know, but we can do it!cheersRodger

Rodger, appreciate that. I don't I could go on with the level of anxiety that I was getting. At some point I needed to get control, I spoke with my physio yesterday and asked him out straight. Do you see any atrophy in my calves? He said he known me for 2 years and your calfs are exactly the same. His words "your depression is fixating and fuelling your anxiety. In turn it's fuelling your BFS. Go and get your mind better and your body will follow. So it's the first steps, lets see what happens.p.s. thanks for the support.
