Seeking Advice: Falling Back into Depression

Hey everyone,

I am an absolute MESS right now. Any advise would be appreciated. I think I'm falling back in to a depression with all of this stuff. Lately I've noticed that I'm still twitching, but not as much as I was, and now I have aches or cramps or whatever they are that move all around my body and last only a few seconds. These are the only symptoms I have. I seem to be aching more than usual and am really upset about this. Does anyone know with ALS does the cramping hit at one spot and then migrate to somewhere else for a few seconds and so on? Am I just overreacting about all this???? I'm 27 and have had these twitches for three and a half years and need to move on with my life and am a wreck about this. I feel I'm too young to be so depressed. One last question, I've seen a neurologist and a few GPs who say it's benign but have never had an EMG, and sometimes that freaks me out. But do you think after having these symptoms for three and a half years I'd see some weakness by now? I know I'm sounding repetetive. I just REALLY need some advise. My family and my husband don't understand!!!!!

what are you describing really does NOT sound like ALS.
3,5 years without weakness means for sure that you don't have ALS. ALS is a fast progressing disease - after 3,5 years you would sit in a wheel chair. The hallmark of ALS is weakness which you don't have. Even if sometimes fascics may apear before weakness, weakness comes pretty fast after them.

About cramps. They are sign of ALS but what you describe is not ALS cramping. ALS cramping is like typicall cramping which every one has in calves from time to time. I'm sure that you know what I mean. This kind of cramping occures also in feet, hands etc. But cramps also occur in BFS (even the kind which is common in ALS). What are you describing does not sound like ALS or even BFS cramping.

Don't worry. After sooooooo long time you don't have IT.
