Scalloped Tongue Unevenness

Does anyone have a scalloped tongue that is worse on one side than the other? My tongue has the first 3 teeth indentions on both sides, but then it has back teeth indentions on my left side, and not on my right. When I flex my tongue, my tongue actually dents in on these areas on the left. Is this concerning?

One more thing...I have a dent on the far back left side of my tongue that cannot possibly be from my teeth because it is farther back than that. Ugh, I can't stand this.

I asked my Neuro the question of the scalloped tongue, he said it is perfectly normal and that a lot of people have it.And here is something I had found on scalloped tongues."Clenching is usually associated with the outward pressing on the teeth by the tongue. This will leave the impression of the teeth as indentations on the sides of the tongue and it is called “scalloped tongue”. So, it may be from clenching your teeth while you sleep.Lily

I know that I grind my teeth at night and clamp down my jaw. I also have scallop marks on my tongue and it scared the you know what out of me at first. But, I realized where is came from and now I don't worry. Cindy

Thank you Cindy. I'm just a little worried because the left side of my tongue is more scalloped than the right and I'm not sure why. I know I clench my teeth at night, but I would think that all of the scalloped marks would be bilateral.

Do you notice actual dents on the side of your tongue when you tighten your tongue and stick it straight out. I sound obsessive. Sorry. I guess this is what anxiety can do to you.
