Hi Troy,
Sorry for your loss, I know losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking.
I always used to question whether, as Basso said, our pets actually make it to heaven. I'd heard debates about it, people saying that they are just creatures who don't have any soul, so how can they live eternally, yada yada yada...which of course wasn't what I wanted to hear. :crying:
Then, I had a little Hebrew lesson, and I concluded that they do go to heaven. There is a passage in the Bible (bear with me here, lol) where it says God gave food to everything that has the breath of life in it, including the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air. The word in Hebrew here is "nefesh," meaning "soul." Therefore, it is saying that animals DO have souls, and so, we can trust that they will be waiting for us when we walk through those pearly gates.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it, lol.
Besides that, heaven just won't be heaven without our sweet little animal friends....
Blessings,
Sue
