Hi there ~I had right calf twitching for three weeks that went away and has been gone for 2wks. Well, it just started up an hour ago again. This time it feels more thumpy but I can still see it. The first exoerience with it was more of a twitchy nervy feeling. Today it's more harder..more of a thumper. I have not had an EMG and really don't want to have one if I can help it. I did see a neuro a week into the calf twitching and she did the standard exams saying I was fine and try not to worry about it. I could come back in six weeks if it still bothered me and she wouuld poke me then. I have had a terrible time with this as it seemed to have come out of nowehere and has darkened my otherwise happy life. I am a first time mom of an almost 7 month old baby girl with a great husband and family. I have a history of anxiety and hypochondria and went to my doctor this week who put me on Zoloft saying I'm healthy and that counseling would be a good option too. The twitches/fasics are real. is it an extra bad sign that the calf one returned stronger than before so far? I exercise and did attend my tough exercise class yesterday which is a mixture of cardio, resistance training, aerobic, yago, you name it. I also have no weakness. Just the random twitching that often ends up all over the place and started about a month ago with no signs of truly going away! At times things are quite slowed down but otherwise, I have just never had this kind of problem before. Just like everyone, Ive had the eye twitch or lip/mouth twitch or whatever but man, this is very scary!!! Why'd the calf come back?!?! Please help!!I also read some other posts about anxietycentre.com. While mine are increased with anxiety, I feel they started from nowhere really. I did take my first Zoloft today and it did make it feel odd and tingly and kinda wiry. Yes, the first day I felt those things., I have never taken an anti-depressant or anti-anxiety pill before in my life. Thanks for listening.Boo
