Researching Again After TV Refrences to ALS

OK I got in a spin as I tripped on two TV shows refrencing ALS and then got all worried and started "researching again". Most of th efreeking came form references to having symptoms for 3 years b4 diagnosis

I had clean EMGs and brain, neck and spine MRIS during the height of my muscle cramping, twitiching , palm cramping and minor muslce loss due to wearing a hand brace 24/7. ( 2 years ago) ...first cramps and twitching were on the other leg officially 3 years ago.

With your help I have focussed on BFS, until I skidded this weekend....

My left side is the most affected ...gait and hand the twitching has subdued somewhat due to clonapn but it still jumps about w/o a theme.

Sunday I was in such pain and lightedness on my outer left gait and felt week and crushed and I had called it a day for anything. Then one clopnapan and one vivodin and I was up duing intense gardening and lifting for 5 hours YES i was exhasuted and my muslces shook when I lifted them afterward but that is natural.

So my question is the ON AGAIN off agian periods within the day are likely NOT ALS wouldnt it ahve "punched me harder" by now?

OH gosh I hate to bring negativity tothe board but you understand.

Someone shake me and pop me in the nose and tell me it is just a crappy thing I have to live with.... today my biceps ache but heck i was lifting peter moss and cutting branches down with abandon yesterday ONLY hours before laying on th ecouch saying I am doomed with the leg cramping .. YET the leg cramping was a non issue when I was workign away..

PS I want to thank all of you and I wish that I could pass out vouchers to each of you for a massage. If you can ever treat yourself, find a good masseuse that LISTENS to you I alwasy feel a bit better (I treat myslef every two months)

Still in a quandary , recently lost in terror and tears but alwasy find hope on this board

You shoul not read all of these forums. The issue is that you don't know really what their symptoms were or if they are applying normal things to their disease. For example, I once read an als post were the woman claimed for serveral years that she was drooling while sleeping and now realized it was from als. I highly doubt it. I drool too since I was a child - long survival rate I guess.

Look, the average life expectancy for als is 2-5 years. Sometimes dx does take a very long time but people have serious serious issues. Chill my friend you'll be fine.
