Relief at Finding this Forum

Finding this forum was a bit of relief. I started having twitching in early Jan which grew worse over a short time all over my body. At this time I still twitch mostly in the calves and feet and occasionally elsewhere. However, in the last two months after the start of twitching I now experience all kinds of sensory stuff: prickling, spider web feeling, tingling, etc.... and started to develop concerns of MS. I have a visit scheduled this Monday with a Neuro. Does any one know if MS can present or in part involve Fasics?

Any comments!

Along with the above listed I have developed tremors some itching and the creepy crawlers and on and off ringing in the ears. I guess I will learn more Monday, however, any insight would be appreciated.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't tell you affirmatively if twitching is part of MS or not...I have heard both reports on this web site. I tend to think not, but that's a great question for your doctor. On the other hand, everything that you have mentioned on your list of symptoms has been experienced by people with BFS....esp. long time sufferers, to differing degrees. So you may find comfort in that alone!

Good luck with your visit and let us know how it goes!

with regards to MS and twitching...well yes people with MS do suffer from twitching but its not specific or suggestive of MS at all. With regards to your symptoms I too can relate to slight tremor at times, and the ringing in ears (tinnitus) however these arent typically suggestive of MS either. The best thing with MS is to get an MRI scan...if nothing shows it virtually rules out MS. Some people are known to get clear MRI's and then go on to develop MS at a later stage, but its nowehere near as common as the internet will try and make you believe.

I'm no expert on ms, but i believe if you go to the neuro presenting with fascics, ms will not be high on the list of possibilities, neither will als. Sounds like you have bfs, but there are many things that can cause your symptoms. My advice to you would be not to worry about ms, and try not to get to worked up over the whole issue. It only makes everything much worse.

Good luck with you dr. appt. and let us know what he says. One other thing to look at is any medication you have been taking. I suspect that the antibiotic cipro started my problems, and there are many people on this board that have suspected/related onset to different types of meds.
