Reduce Fasics With Minerals?

Hi guys. I am interested in seeing whether anyone has had success at reducing their fasics by taking mineral supplements. In particular magnesium? Maybe others?? 'Anxiety sucks' made comment about losing some of these essential minerals everytime you go to the toilet and the result being.... possibly fasics (via mineral depletion). Having IBS I do that a lot (the toilet thing that is) , so I am just wondering.....Any feedback appreciated.thanksRodger

Hey aussie,I have had no luck at all with magnesium.I have heard that it is almost impossible to tell what ur magnesium levels are as it doesnt show up in your blood count so...so well....who knows? But its done nada for me

Here is a link to magnesium deficiancy. It explains alot about the problem. I have also read some other article about if I can find it. Remember though taking too much Mag will cause bathroom issues. So it is a delicate balance. I was taking them for a while with success, but i got the flu and stopped taking them (as I wasn't trying to add to my bathroom problem at the time). When I resumed I tried something called Super Calcium and Magnesium. After a few days I had one night of horrible sleep starts. Not sure if they are related. So I stopped again. I will retry again at some point. There are statisctics out there that say 70% of the population is deficiant in magnesium. We just don't comsume enough each day. I have also read they people who have thyroid conditions tend to be even more magnesium deficiant. Doesn't matter if your are hypothyroid (like me) or hyperthyroid.

Hey, RainCat is the cocoa nibs guy (high in magnesium) who said that the additional Mg helped him. If you search here with that info you will find many posts... I personally didn't find they did anything but then again I do take a good whole food multiple that includes Mg. My whole view of supplements has changed since I've gotten better........

The only thing I've done over the last several years has been to take a 1-a-day which includes Mg. It has affected me zero as far as I can tell.
