Been reading this website for several weeks now. It has kept me sane, but hasn't completely gotten rid of my anxiety... I am a 23 year old male. About 6 weeks ago, my doctor put me on Paxil for anxiety/depression. A little before that, I noticed some weird sensations in my body. I had twitches for some time (years, but not regularly), but it seems about shortly before I was prescribed paxil, they became more regular, and after starting to take Paxil, they have become just about a constant when I'm relaxing. I had expressed concerns of *** to my doc at that time, but he wouldn't even entertain the thought because of my age. I just got back from the doctor today (6 weeks later) and I explained to him the fasciculations are pretty constant in my legs, particularly my left calf, when I am resting (which doesn't help that I am an accountant and sit in a chair for 8 hours a day) and I occasionally get a "pop" elsewhere in my body. He took my reflexes and he said everything was good except he couldn't get my left ankle (I think it may have been my achilles he was hitting) to react, he called it a slacker but said it could be normal. He did a simple strength test, he pushed down on my legs while I tried to resist, and he said I had good strength in my legs (I do work out pretty intensely 4 times a week). Again, he didn't even entertain the thought of ***, though when I told him I was getting fascics, he didn't like that. Another thing I noticed is that if I make a fist with my left hand, there is a "dent" that forms in the meat below my pinkie finger. I don't know how long I've had this though. It seems that walking on your tip-toes is a pretty common thing here with that and that is no problem. What would you guys advise? Should I try to find a neurologist w/o a referral? Should I just try and live with it? My doc said 12.5 mg of benadryl might help but if I knew these were benign, I could live with them.Thanks.
