As we all know, there are many different variants when it comes to BFS. So, I've come up with a rating system for you to rate your BFS. Here's how it works:FIRST, pick a letter:A. I'm all twitchingB. I twitch and I have sensory (sensory issues just as bothersome as twitching more than one day a week)C. I twitch and cramp (cramping more than one day a week)D. All of the aboveSECOND, pick a number:1. My symptoms are localized to one limb2. My symptoms are in my legs only3. My symptoms are above my waist only4. My symptoms are all over my body but no tongue twitching5. My symptoms are all over my body AND my tongue twitchesLASTLY, as you reply, feel free to make a comment or two about areas that plague you more than others. i.e. what bothers you the most? So, I'm an A5 and my tongue is my nemesis. It twitches everyday and I can see clear fascics on both sides frequently. Also, my twitching has progressed over 18 months. Just gets worse and worse. I twitch every minute of every day. How bout you? This is just for fun. I'll compile all the ratings and break it down for us... just out of curiosity.-Matt

This is good Matt!I, like Greg, am a B4..pre-cramp and everything. My main issues are a lot of pain and stiffness at the moment. My right shoulder down to my fingers are causing me a ton of problems lately. In addition to my knees feeling like those of an Octogenarian.

A5, but not to the extent that Matt does. Not even close. Just a few poppers a day in the tongue, but I twitch everywhere else. I don't think there's a single muscle on me that hasn't twitched.

I'm C4 though almost every muscle I have, including my tongue has twitched at one time or the other. Cramping has been bad the last couple of days, but wax and wane.take care, gary

B4 for me too (although the last few weeks I experience some odd sensations in my tongue and it feels like it is twitching sometimes, so maybe it is B5 for me)

Docen,Yeah, I'm surprised how many B4's we have too, but hopefully we get a lot more replies. So awesome to hear that your tongue has calmed down! Mine goes every day and I'm really hoping there comes a day when it dissappears. That gives me some hope that maybe it will!-Matt

I'm a D4/D5. Not a ton of tongue twitches but when they happen they are more like what a snake does - a darting type move. Where are all the other crampers?? I'm the only D so far. :( My cramping has been worse this week than normal which has me a bit down.

B4 OR B5. The pain in my feet ann the continous paresthesias in feet are my worst symptoms. cannot wear jeans etc close to my skin:( hope more people here will answer this.

Thanks for the replies! I have 24 ratings so far. I'd love to get 100 and post the results just to get an idea of the %ages in each category. This is really interesting! -Matt

Great post, Matt! Your survey neatly summarizes a lot of good information. I'm an A4, for sure. My first twitches were noticed in my left calf when I was at the Dr.'s office last June for something else. I had a huge, painless purple mark on my left calf. Looked like an insect bite turning into a cellulitis. I was given an antibiotic and a tetanus booster, and I was told that the twitch might be due to spider venom in the muscle. (My doc doesn't think it's Lyme Disease, although I'm still thinking about being tested for that.) A week later, the bite mark had cleared-up and I was twitching in both calves, both feet and my right arm! Within a month I developed a real, grinding, intermittent twitch in my left cheek! Now I'm at the point where I have twitches in my buttocks, shoulder and face waking me-up in the morning!!! My calfs still go crazy from time to time. Usually when I'm driving my car. I have some that are so subtle that I can barely see them, and I can't feel them. Others are real "thumpers." Sometimes I can see my thigh (right near the knee) twitching right through my bluejeans! To this day, I haven't seen a tongue twitch.... yet.All of my twitches come and go. The facial thing has disappeared from an entire month at a time, only to return. Crazy! I definitely find that stress and anxiety will amp things-up! I'll be keeping an eye on your survey! Great stuff!John

Correction to the above post! I'm a D4, for sure!!!!! Sorry!I forgot about the fact that my twitches were preceded by about a year's worth of strange, inexplicable paraesthesia and muscle cramps. I had to have an MRI to rule out MS because of these. D4 is where I'm at! Thanks!
