Random Numbness, Neck Soreness

I've been a twitcher for 4 mos. now and have been having random numbness that comes & goes. The numbness has been mostly in arms, hands, legs & arches of feet. Had blood work, MRI & EMG all clean, but a few days ago I developed this strange sensation that started in the back of my neck. It seemed sore at first & I attributed it to snatching from the shocking sensations of my EMG one week ago. It's hard to describe, but now it seems as if my throat area is numb. I can swallow, but am getting very paranoid again. My doctor has told me that I do not have ALS or MS. I was wondering if this is also one of the strange sensory sensations that goes along with BFS. Has anyone else had something such as this?

yes indeed, people talk about throat tightness, difficulty swallowing and the "lump in the throat" syndrome all of the time with BFS and Fibromylagia. Especially in the more active forums on these subjects. Do NOT worry about ALS. Your EMG was clean... it can NOT be ALS, period.

Anxiety WILL cause the throat symptoms you described, even if you don't "feel" anxious. You obviously are though or you wouldn't be nervous about it and posting on here... see what I mean? A lot of people say they aren't anxious yet they spend hours a day on here looking and searching for clues and answers. Well, if none of them were anxious, they would be out doing other things and not obsessing over this stuff, right? So anxiety IS there, even when you don't "feel" anxious. I've had the throat thing with swallowing difficulty many times in the past, WAY before any twitching started.. like years and decades before and it was solely anxiety related. It can last months and months, as it did me, or it can only last a few days or weeks. Either way, it is anxiety related. If you aren't sure or are having other throat problems, go see your doctor once again, just to make sure it isn't something else.. NOT ALS related, but the Flu? Strep? Bacterial infection? Viral? Who knows? What I DO know is that MANY people with BFS talk about the exact same symptoms you mentioned...:)
