Question about Slow Nerve Conduction

Another question-did anyone have a slow nerve conduction during emg? What did your neuro say? I never have my questions in my head when I am w/my neuro. Maybe just afraid to ask. It was my median nerve (forearm). Thanks.

StephG22,

From what I've read, slow nerve conductions are nothing to worry about. There are two types of nerves checked in the NCS - and those are the sensory nerves and motor nerves. I had a slower sensory study in one of my legs because my foot was cold. Doctor said no big deal.

Now if I could just convince myself that the 19 clean needle sticks he did on me were enough...

The sensory nerves in my hands were slow because my hands were cold. The median nerve being slow was a motor nerve-that's the one I was concerned about.
