Question about Disc Disease and BFS

Hello all, in another post, I described the conflict I have endured between traditional sports doctors who insist my symptoms are caused by disc disease, and a neurologist who says this is impossible given the location and variety of symptoms. He is firmly in the BFS camp, and says the discs are indeed damaged, but have nothing to do with my BFS. I am 99% on the side of the BFS diagnosis. The only reason for the 1% of doubt is the fact that one of my symptoms seems to be turned on or off depending on specific movement, namely an extension of my lower back, and straightening my leg when I lye down at night. This symptom is a shimmering , lightly electric sensation in my outer thigh, following the path of the lateral femoral nerve into my knee. All my other symptoms- buzzing , twitching , etc, are bilateral and totally unaffected by specific movements. I am just curious if others have experienced symptoms being "turned on or off" by certain movements or positions. I suppose anything is possible , that this is just another type of BFS, or even that I have more than one condition going on at the same time. Again just curious.
