Hey all. I started prozac 20mg. about 30 days ago. I first started out taking 20mg daily. Although it helped w/ the anxiety and awful state of panic, I noticed twitching RAMPED Up. So.. I spoke to my Psychiatrist and he said to take it every other day- Well ironically enough on the days that I did not take the prozac..I hardly twitched. SO. I said to myself..Ok. I will only take it every 3 days...Thats where I Am at now and I'd say ny twitching is down 85% or MORE. I take Klonapin 1mg. by halves if I get anxiety which helps SO MUCH. So I just put in a call to my psych to see if I Could just stop the PROZAC. The twitching and prozac may have nothing to do w/ eachother but I think it does. So I was wondering if anyone else had this experience. I also...was gonna say Watch out for me lol I might need some support ;) I am just trying to take as less medication as I can during pregnancy. I hate having to take ANYTHING besides a prenatal pill. But my anxiety was OVER the TOP when I first started twitching. Thank yall...Lovely

Weird you say that. I have been on ssri's for about 9 years and the never noticed the twitching. i started to have sleep problems, mostly hypnic jerks and my physchiatrist thought it was from the paxil so he took me off. in order to take me off he switched me to prozac as it has a much longer half life. The day i started the prozac the twitching started. I have been off now for 4 days with no releif. I am hoping it is the prozac and will eventually wear off. I use kolonopin for anxiety and nurontin to help the twitches. So far I just twitch all day. no more thumpers but you can see the movements in my calfs and thighs. had all the neuro work ups including emg, mri, sleep study, eeg and blood work. everything came back normal. if its not the prozac then its definately bfs. I have two relatives that dies of als and let me tell you the first sign was that they thought they had a stroke.
