Preparing for Neurology Appointment

Well I have tried to stay away from this site and Dr. Google for the length of time it took for my neuro appointment to come up. It is tomorrow. Dr. Google still isn't getting my attention but considering how kind and supportive everyone is on here I figured I would at least let you all know :) I am nervous but nowhere near as much as I would have been without this board and frankly had I continued to just look for things. I have tried to adopt the "what will be will be attitude" and remember that by grace through faith God will lead me through all this. So thank you all and I hope I can be a support stone for future folks that pass by here.

Just got back. Man that was the shortest doctor visit in history.... well actually seeing the doctor that is. It lasted a whole 5 minutes. He gave me some medication for my headaches, didn't do a neuro exam at all, said the twitching was benign and sent me on my way with a return trip set for 3 months from now. I guess I didn't even warrant an exam LOL

When you went to the neuro, how did you describe your twitches? Was it the nature, frequency, duration etc. that led the neuro to be able to immediately declare them benign?

Bogarden,I think your neuro took a reasonable approach in having you come back in 3 months since it doesn't sound like the twitches (even though they are widespread) are causing you suffering. I was more insistent on immediate testing because I was really suffering and needed some medication-based relief. In 3 months, your problems could be gone or reduced and this would avoid unnecessary tests and if your symptoms are unchanged you can decide in 3 months whether you want them further investigated.I've been at this for 9 months now, and still no "answer" just a lot of clues. I think neuros realize that unless someone is disabled (not walking, talking, breathing right, or on a rapid downhill slide) there is no advantage to going all out early on. Krackersones
