Possible Hormonal Effects on Sensory Symptoms?

I dont know if you girls have noticed but the last week and a a half to two weeks I have been worse with the shaking, sesations and twitches. I noticed something, it once again was right before my menstrual...Yesterday my friend came and today the sensory symptoms are gone and so is the shaking...I also was having dry eyes which can happen with hormones. I am wondering if any of this can be hormone related. I know there was a post from someone on here about how he took a hormone and it helped him. I did go for a long walk last night too but I do feel good today, just really sore..lol..I wonder if I should get my hormone levels checked? Ok guys just wondered if anyone else notices this????..Jenn

Hi Jenn,

I have always wondered if hormones are the root of BFS or if they make it worse. I was on birth control pills for years and recently quit. I wondered if the twitches would get better. They are better but I am also taking magnesium supplements. Magnesium doesn't get rid of them but it calms them down. I notice it works for about 10-12 hours and then once it is out of my system, the twitches come back. Then I take it again the next day, and then the same thing. Anyway, I am sure hormones play a role, just don't know what to do about it. Taking hormones can cause so many side effects that could be worse then benign twitches. Sure hope somebody will figure out how to control BFS. Frustrating!!!

Jenn,

You know last month I noticed this quite a bit. I wasn't sure though if it was coincidental or not. I was going to really pay attention this month.

Some people also get a lot of tension and anxiety before there period so this also may be a cause.

I've never really had bad pms at all so I'm not sure.

I'l let you know.
