Possible Early MS Symptoms: Worried

Hi! After experiencing symptoms like many of you and - of course  - researching them on the internet I'm now quite concerned that i might be having early signs of MS. Quick history:In January this year, i had a kind of restlessness and slight, but visible twitching in my lower left leg, calf and toes. It did worry me, but I thought I might have injured a nerve during exercising or so. It's the kind of twitch and strange restlessness that gets better with moving the foot, and as soon as I concentrated on something else and forgot about it, I no longer felt it consciously. This went away after a few weeks and I forgot about it quickly. In March, the same twitch came back in the same area, but went away even quicker than the first time and I hardly bothered. Now, since about a week, the same twitch came back once again, but after two days it was accompanied by a "Pins-and-needles" feeling in both hands and both feet, kind of like when they "fall asleep" because not enough blood flows. Its restricted to the outer extremities, isn't very severe but uncomfortable and bothersome. I also noticed that my arms and legs tend to get "heavy" rather quick, like when holding out a plate in one hand. This morning I did my regular jog, it went well but since then my calves and legs feel extremely heavy and tired.I'm usually not a hypochondriac, its just that these neurological symptoms are something new that kinda freaks me out. I was thinking about MS because unlike many people here, my symptoms are only in hands and feet (the "gloves and socks"-pattern), not everywhere on my body, and by now its more about the prickly numbnes than the twitch, which isnt that bad. What also is kind of scary is that I get the feeling of seeing this "On-and-off"-pattern with completely trouble-free periods inbetween here, which supposedly is typical of MS. I am also in my early twenties, which seems to be a not untypical age for the onset of this.I'd be extremely grateful if people with similar experiences or comforting/realistic ideas could maybe say a word or two to this

I'm not sure if you are currently seeing a neuro, but if you are not I would suggest that you find one...not because I think you have MS, but just for your peace of mind. I'm in my late twenties and thought I might have MS or neuropathy. I saw a neuro and he assured me that I had nothing seriously wrong with me. Just to make sure, I had an MRI and my test came out clean. An MRI can be expensive but can help with giving you a peace of mind about the situation. I would suggest that you first find a neuro and try not to worry...Many people on this website have been in a panic thinking that they have some horrible disease; however, I think that most of us our still alive and still ok with no other major symptoms that would suggest otherwise. Take care...

I went through an MS scare myself last year and its not fun. I had an MRI for migraines and they found a tiny lesion on my brain, which warranted a spinal tap (NOT FUN) which thankfully came back normal. My point: during those weeks and I did alot of MS research, and even spoke with a woman who has lived with MS most of her life. From what I understand, MS has symptoms that are very straightforward...like optic neuritis, or complete numbness in your legs or arms. You would also muscle spasms, or get a jolt through your body when you touch your chin to your chest. Dizziness or vertigo is also a common symptom. As well as blurred vision or double vision that lasts longer than a few hrs. Cognitive problems are also a sign.Try to relax, but if you cant, I would recommend seeing a neuro for peace of mind. It will be worth it in the long run. Good luck!
