Hi,I've been twitching in my calves (24/7 !!!) for 18 months (since Oct 07) , my left leg is really acting strange now. It cramps, hurts, feels stiff and I've the feeling I limp.My mind is back to this ALS thing...maybe it is ALS after all?Bart
Hi BartYour symptoms have been present way too long to be ALS... this would have declared itself a long time before now.If you are worried though, you could pop down to see your doctor and get further reassurance that all is well.In the meantime, you will see from various posts on this site that there are many of us out there with BFS who have the same symptoms as you so try not to worry too much.RegardsSimon
Thanks Simon,I went to an als specialist the 2nd April, he did clinical and said nothing was wrong. Now 3 weeks later I have myself convinced once again that I'm one of those 'scary exceptions'
I keep getting told my twitching is likely autoimmune related. My autoimmune issues did not show up in all my tests over time so they can be there and not show up. I also am told that most autoimmune related neuro problems cause weakness and it is unusual that mine have not. I saying this here so you realize that just because you may be getting some weakness related to the twitching does not mean you have ALS. Also if your problems are autoimmune, they often do not progress to a severe state and can be treated or go away on their own. The problem with autoimmune is not much is known and you usually aren't treated until the symptoms are disabling because until then it is not worth the expense, trouble (time consuming infusions), and sometimes risks of the meds/treatment.Krackersones
It's so weird, my whole left leg hurts, I feel my muscles hurting in that leg and around the knee. It's like they are pulling the muscles apart + a lot of twitching...is this still BCFS?
