SREH22, I don't think you have anything to worry about, based on your description. Aspiration due to ALS (your primary concern, I suspect) first shows up on thin liquids, not solid food. Also, the coughing associated with it is pretty immediate, not just after eating. Much more likely causes for your throat problems include allergies (post-nasal drip, as you mentioned) and GERD (reflux), both of which can cause throat irritation.
I've noticed that I've been coughing more after eating as well, but dismiss it as a potential problem because of one observation: my throat feels "cold" when I eat ice cream. This means that there's mechanical irritation in the throat, which could easily cause everything else, including coughing and what you think is related to aspiration.
You should see a doctor if you haven't already, but that's because a doctor can diagnose and treat what might be wrong with your throat, not because you're likely to have anything seriously wrong.
