Perceived Weakness in Left Arm

I would like to get feedack regarding the preceived weakness I am experiencing in my left arm. This "condition" started for me in September 2007. However, the preceived weakness in my left arm only started about 2 1/2 months ago. I have no real weakness. I have been lifting weights and gaining strenght etc.The weakness sensations are in my hands, and upper arm (bicep and tricep). My entire arm actually feels off. I have some internal shaking/trembling in this arm as well. My left hand will visible shake if I flex my wrist upwards (espicially while typing on a keyboard). I get the occasioanal twitches in hand, foremarm, bicep, tricep and shoulder. I wouldn't classify it as constant or a hot spot.I also have a dull pain in the muscle just below my thumb on the inner part of my hand. I beleive this muscle is called the thenar muscle. The pain comes and goes. If I push down on the muscle it has a soreness type feeling. The weakness feeling doesn't really come and go. It is usually there all the time. However, at times it feels weaker than others.Feb 22nd I had a clean EMG and he test my left arm. I've also had 3 normal clincal exams. I've been told I absolutely don't have anything bad. Of course I sitll have those fears......slow onset or I'm the exception etc, etc.Any thoughts? Anyone experience something similiar. Thanks,CDC

WE are experiencing the SAME thing I believe. .. .. I too keep "thinking" my left arm/hand/shoulder feels weaker off and on. I looked back and I saw me complaining of the same thing in MARCH- So I know it comes and goes. I have been battling w/ this for a week now- I too am not twitching in that arm to be alarmed, infact my twitches are down sooo minimal. I almost feel like I just found something else to fixiate on.However when it comes to lifting things, doing things, I can and its no problem. So I guess you could say NO clinical weakness. That SLOW ONSET as I Was JUST TOLD VIA PHONE by someone that has seen Mayo Graduate NEUROS does not exist..There it IS NOT A MEDICAL Term....I cant really explain it. By the time we "Twitch"....thats enough time to find definate weakness on a clinical exam.I thought about going to the neuro for another clinical...BUT...... I think it would be a waste of time. I just went 3 weeks ago today. Surely she didnt miss anything- and I know i'd have some reflex changes etc..and all was normal and good. This too shall pass.Lovely*Hopefully Sean can post to us about this b/c he has a lot of info on it *

I meant to add I have tremors in both arms / hands etc. I am not sure what you mean by your interpretation of it....you say vibrating, but are you referring to tremors? If you had a clinical exam after you had already began twitching- and esp a EMG, YOU ARE FINE. Its hard to believe I know. I keep wanting to run back to my neuro but....It was JUST 3 weeks ago. The bad stuff DOESNT hide itself.Lovely
