Perceived Anxiety: Physical Symptoms

Theo,I cant say for sure what your weakness could be but you do say that it is "PERCEIVED" The fact that you sleep O.K. and this begins when you wake up would lead me to beleive it could be anxiety driven. Never underestimate the power of the mind. I have had times where I felt I could not swallow and WAHLAH I iterally find myself unable to swallow. I really start freaking out  Once I can stop thinking about it I'm fine  That seems to be another thing that makes this disorder so tough. We seem to be able to talk ourselves into anything in just a blink of an eye. It makes it real hard to keep a positve attitude :crying:

theo were are you from???? I am from Mexico and these guys are GREAT!!!! haha... this forum is really helpful and I strongly recommend you to be an ACTIVE user... post, reply, ask... it helps very much...

Personally, I still have my thyroid in place... hehe...

About the percieved waekness... well, as long as you THINK you can´t steer, everything is OK. Try making exercise... it helps very much.... If your EMG cabe bakc clean, then it means that your all the fibers in your muscles are contracting when you need to, son the fascics are from benign (¿?) origin, and do not soun malicious at all. Perhaps, you should check for carpal tunnel syndrome if you continue to feel weak hands. Can you opose your pinky and thumb?? when you feel your hands numb, are those finger the thumb index and middle??? If so, the it definetly sounds like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome..

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum...

Cheers

Luis

Thank you for your replies.

I am back from the neuro and everything seems OK for now as he did not even order an EMG :D)
I have told him about my complaints and he examined my situation. He told me to grip his fingers intensely after that he told that this has nothing to do with real weakness.
Although my reflexes overreacted to every single stroke, he told me that this is nothing to worry about, too.
I have also asked him if this weird feeling in my hands is a sign of bad things which may be coming in a while and he mentioned that the most important thing for a neuro is the examination of the body and he has nothing to worry about at this time. Wanted to see me in 2 months again and advised me to go on with my life as nothing has happened.
I have been to many neuros until today and none of them did find anything wrong so i guess i will try to calm down for now.

Pacovega26,
I have also asked about carpal tunnel sendrome but the doc was sure that this has nothing to do with it.He could not tell me the reason for the things i am going through but stated that nothing there is nothing to worry about for now.

Roger G,

I completely agree with the things you wrote about the power of mind. I think for the ones who are cleared by a neuro( including me), anxiety is the real issue to handle rather than a rare disease.

My left hand is still weird as i type this message but i guess i will ignore these kind of things from now on, at least as much as i can...

By the way Pacovega26, i am from Turkey and it was just a coincidence for me to find this site while i was searching the net and i am really glad that i found it..Sharing experiences and knowing that you are not alone in this is a big relief...

Thanks again..

This weakness thing has been what has been bugging me to death to. I feel like I could handle all the random twitching if I didn't have this weird feeling in my arm as well. The best way I can describe it is it feels like I have lifted weights for about an hour and my arm is tired - but when I try to use it it works normally. It does seem to come and go as well though - which I think is a good sign.
