Panicking Over *** Re-Diagnosis

Once again I find myself spiralling out of control, having re-diagnosed myself with ***. Tonight I was actually having a good night, however before dinner I happened to look in the mirror at my tongue while it was resting in my mouth. (I am guilty of doing this daily) Right in the center of my tongue I could see it moving up & down quickly. Needless to say this caused me to go into a state of panic. It looked like it was pulsating up & down quickly in that one spot. I am convinced this is early bulbar.

I get a persistent one on the tip of my tongue but have had then just right or left of centre ... I would feel them zapping me but when I got really stressed and the full on anxiety with adrenaline my tongue was twitching far more than when I am calm ! Also when you open and hold your mouth open all the time the muscle group will get tired and shaky ... Even your tongue will move a little ... How long did it last ? Is it still going like a hot spot?

It's a muscle like any other John and 10 seconds is nothing ! If I rub my tongue firmly or flick it, it can twitch anywhere for that duration ... I don't recommend trying that by the way lol Please relax and put the fears behind you..

So many people on here have tongue twitching. Mine has been doing it on and off the past few days. It's not a big deal. It's a muscle like anything else, and with us: if there's a muscle, there's a good chance it will twitch. I have had the bridge of my nose twitch, among many other strange places. Please don't worry about this.

There's a load more John, you will get more replies soon but if you look up the old threads you will see a fair amount of members who are not currently active on the site but they had tongue twitches ... Some of the veterans on the site will be able to reassure you... When I seen my neuro he wasn't one bit surprised my tongue was twitching, he shrugged it off and said its a muscle like any other when he knew that I twitched all over and not just my tongue.

starting to wonder if if there is something wrong with me since I do NOT have any tongue twitches but have them everywhere else and so many of you do have them in the tongue. It seems there is no "normal" with this.

Lol don't ask for it FernFinnegan lol as they take some time adjusting too lolTrust me I know :) I had twitching before the tongue kicked off but talk about a tail spin of anxiety lol I got better with it once I was assured it's no different to other muscles by my doctor and neuro and them I found people here who get them too so that really put my mind at ease !

Oh, I know. My tone was one of - oh I don't know what I'd call it. I am glad to have the warning that this could be on the horizon, but realize it isn't funny at all. It is clearly apparent that this is common for many with bfs. It is all very disturbing. I had my EMG less than a week ago and my reassurance from it is already almost out the window. It seems they are about 70-85% sensitive, not performed by a neurologist, and I haven't had a real exam by a neuro yet. Big mistake to go reading or googling again.
