Painful Twitching & ALS Fears

Well I've had widespread twitches now since about April. I've visited the neuro in July and had a clean clinical and emg but...About two days ago I started getting some very painful twitching/spasms in my shoulder. Now my als fears are back in full force. My husband and I are in the process of moving, so the past two days I've also been packing and moving boxes. These hurt so bad that they're making me nauseous and my arm feels very week. It was twitching pretty much all night last night and I didn't sleep very well. It also twitches when I push on it. Does anyone else ever have these painful type of spasms? I remember having them a little big back in March before the widespread twitches started. I'm still worried this is turning into something sinister and the panicking is back!

Tina,This kind of thing is common with me. I was throwing a football around with my brother last month and for the next few days, I was getting all kinds of twitching and spasms in my back and shoulders along with a strang aching. I also can trigger my twitches by applying some weight or pressure on the muscle. I know it can cause a lot of anxiety but I've been twitching about as long as you (mid-May) and have been given the 99.9% reassurance from my neuro as well. So it seems to be just part of this crazy thing we all have going on. -Matt

Thanks Matt! Your posts are always reassuring, especially since your last trip to the neuro. I just can't believe how painful this is. I've never really experienced the exercise intolerance before, but I guess this could be it. Strange that it's always the same shoulder that has this cramping... it hasn't done this for months and now it's back again. :crying:

Some weeks befor this started I had such massive shoulder/back Spasms that I went to the doc do give me a muscle relaxant, because it made me throw up from this pain.It is really incredibly painful, much worse than calf cramps
