Traci,
When I was dx'ed, shaking was my worst symptom. I had tremors of my legs, arms, hands, trunk, jaw, well...practically my whole body. Forget about standing, at all. Ever. I was too frightened of falling to even walk, most of the time.
Twitching was just incidental for me.
Oddly I was previously dx'ed with coxsackie B virus, but not coxsackie A, which is apparently responsible for hand, foot and mouth disease. (I've always had foot IN mouth disease, but that's a different subject, LOL.)
Coxsackie viruses can wreak post-viral havoc with your nervous system. Do you know which virus you tested positive for?
HFMD can also be caused by other enteroviruses.
The bottom line is, you just need to let it run its course, but I thought you might find comfort in knowing you aren't alone. Shaking legs and buckling knee caps are quite common.
Blessings,
Sue
