Hello friends:
Well it has now been over a year of my ordeal and after a visit to the psych ED on Sunday it was decided that I should begin fighting this anxiety aggressively. I am giving up my concerns about taking drugs and going forward with all I have. When I first came to this forum I believed I had ***. I know this is no longer true. For me severe anxiety came before the twitching and so far everything points in that direction. I just had another round of bloodwork done and my Mg, b12, etc. came back normal. I am not saying that everyone on here has this because of anxiety but I think that I may. I wanted to thank those who have really helped me through some tough times, including but not limited to Ginny, GaryM, Diego4Life, Amytwitch, and many others. I feel like I relied more on this site for support than to give support, hence I would like to share a little info from my EMG report that I just received from my neurologist. The EMG was normal and he included some info...
"Mr. ------------ has a history of what I suspect are benign fasciculations. They have not been of sufficient duration to be certain though the location for the fasciculations (calves, first dorsal interosseous, and feet are quite typical for this). The occasional repetitive fascicualtions in one location is also more indicative of these being benign. Certainly the lack of weakness argues strongly in that favor.
He also stated that I had a recurrence of some inferior left ocular twitching (under the eye). He states that thought this is quite annoying it is essentially never pathologic.
The first paragraph was from my first visit in October of 2004 before the EMG and the second came in January after the EMG was performed.
I hope that this helps some of you out there. I will no doubt check in from time to time to see how everyone is doing but for therapy purposes it is believed that this site may be fueling the fire for me, so to speak. So my friends, best of luck to all and thank you for all you have done to help me through this miserable year!
Kind regards
-Sean
