Overcoming Fear of MS on Zoloft

Ive been on Zoloft for about 6 weeks now... I let a fear of MS take over my body and of course after all the symptom surfing and research I did on the disease, I developed every single symptom. (My problems started with a slight tingling in my left hand) Anyway, the negative tests didnt help me get over the anxiety and I just got worse and worse. Finally I caved in and started taking Klonopin and Zoloft. The Klonopin helped calm my nerves and also helped minimize the twitching. The thing with Zoloft is that it can take 4-6 weeks to really work. I was getting discouraged with it because 4 1/2 weeks had gone by and I wasnt feeling that much better if I was taking hte Klonopin. And then one day last week, I woke up and it was like wham! I felt pretty darn good. It's like I went to bed and woke up a new person. And now my symptoms are myseteriously vanishing! Hmmm... maybe it was all anxiety with a little BFS thrown in there.

Good luck! I hope the Zoloft helps (And if your symptoms do go away after taking the med for a while, dont do what I did and freak out that the symptoms were gone. I thought it was because my non-existent MS lesions had healed and started to freak out again lol ) I also had no problems or side effects with it

Hi,

I too have never taken antidepressants before and I was put on zoloft about 4 weeks ago. This is my experience:

I started to feel much better within days not weeks.

I noticed a big difference in side effects when I stepped up to the 50mg level. I have this ratcheting action tremor as well as the twitches and the 50 mg tab made my tremor much worse and made me shake like a leaf all morning and feel really exhausted. So I switched to taking it before bed. (that way you are oblivious to the side effects as you're sleeping! :D) ) My tremor is still slightly worse than before the zoloft but less and less each day.

My mood is so much more consistent and level and don't I feel as anxious - someone else posted here and described that on Zoloft they went from just existing to actually living their lives and that's how I feel.

The Zoloft hasn't made me feel drugged or groggy just calmer and happier and able to deal.

Good luck - I hope it works for you.
