This was a PM but I thought I'd post it to the group too.
Massagefan16,
I’m doing very well. Thank you for asking.
My calves are CRAZY. They never stop EVER! Also, I’ve given up on Pedialyte; it’s just too *beep* expensive. I consume a lot of Gatorade though and it helps me to counteract my rediscovered coffee addiction.
I’ve been getting way better otherwise. I really don’t think about my twitching until the evening and then it drives me nuts so I take Klonopin. – God I love Klonopin
Otherwise I’ve totally given up on thinking I’m going to die; it’s kind of gotten boring in a way. Funny thing is that when I gave up on believing I’ve got something serious (ALS, MS, etc) my body gave up trying to convince me otherwise.
I’ve been working out a lot and have made substantial upper body gains and I’m still running 10K in around 37 minutes so I may assume that ALS isn’t going to happen.
I just had my one year BFS anniversary so I guess I’m kind of in the clear for ALS and all that other deadly stuff that I was absolutely sure was going to kill me.
Hear is a list of my improvements:
I no longer tremor /shake.
I no longer have twitches other than my legs
I no longer have numbness or tingle sensations
Sometimes I still get dizzy but a Sudafed seems to clear things up (I got head-butted very hard in the nose and I lost all kind of gross stuff out my nostrils and down the back of my throat – felt great to clear my sinuses Very Happy )
Also, I’m back to drinking coffee (used to send me over the BFS edge but now I can drink it without issue)
Generally speaking I have gone from thinking “I’m going to die” to being 99.9% normal in the course of one year. – I never thought it would happen.
I recently saw my primary care doctor (he’s an MS expert too as he works in an MS clinic as well) He maintains, as he always has from the beginning, that I had a doozy of a virus and that they’ll never know what happened to me.
Shyt happens I guess. To bad it happens to us eh?
Jeff
