One Year Anniversary with BFS: Anxiety Relief

Well, today is my 1 year anniversary with BFS. I must say my anxiety is so much better than a year ago. After seeing 2 neurologists, having EMG, brain MRI, and numerous blood tests I am finally realizing that this is benign. I can still walk, exercise and do everything I did a year ago except I twitch all over. I know now I don't have the dreaded disease. I still wonder what caused this... was it bad anxiety? Hasimoto's disease? Who knows. I don't think I will ever find out. This is a very hard thing to go through and the only thing that helps is time. For the newbies... please listen to your doctors. When they tell you that you are fine, please believe them. This stuff can really mess with your mind. Sometimes I think that is worse than the twitches. Also, know your not alone. This board saved my life. So many wonderful people helped me out of the dark hole I was in. Yes, the twitches suck but they won't kill you.Leslie

Congratulations! Your posts have been very helpful to me over months. I hope you make the annual update a tradition even if you no longer need to post regularly over the years.

"Sometimes I think that is worse than the twitches."There is no doubt in my mind that the anxiety is worse than the twitches. No comparison at all IMHO. Congrats...I'm glad you are doing better.

Happy twitchy anniversary, Leslie. Really pleased to hear that you are doing so well. Thanks for all the support you have offered over the past year.RegardsSimon
