I have calmed down a bit. You are at the right place hang in there. I

Diana,

thanks for the response, its awful aint it... been trying to compare my tongue with others... typical sign of OCD, seeking reassurance, obsessive checking. Funnily enough i've been out all afternoon celebrating a friends birthday and for most of the time i was out, totally forgot about it.. The reaslised i was ok and started thinking again, got in checked my tongue out for a while.. and i'm like has my ridge changed, is it bigger. My poor girlfriends suffers loads..

hang in there though..

Linesman,

I went through a period of this tongue examination, word problems, etc. Anxiety can cause a multitude of feelings and even symptoms.

Bulbar als, as I am certain you know, causes very severe problems and you would not have to examine your tongue to know them.

My sister's husband had myestenia gravis and his bulbar muscles were impacted. He COULD NOT speak properly - slurring so badly I could not understand a word he was saying. When he laid down he COULD NOT breath. Now, als might not happen that quickly, but still the loss of muscle use and resulting symptoms are the same.

Allow your mind to move toward something else. When you think I want to check my tongue (incidentally everyone has a groove in their tongue to some extent) instead of doing it form a nice ball of love and send it out to someone in most need of your love. If you are a person of faith, just ask God to use your anxiety and fear as an offering in love for another....that person most destitute, most in need in that present moment.

Give up and you will gain everything.
