Numbness in Ring and Little Fingers?

Hi everyone, just want to ask this question.. anyone here has this numbness in their ring and little fingers? I get them when i wake up in the morning and if i slept with my arms bent. I tried to sleep with my arms straightened but sometimes i also get it. I noticed that when i tried to close my fist, the 2 fingers would need more effort then the rest, instead of the smooth closing and opening of my other fingers, the last 2 fingers would droop down (sorry cant find another better word to explain this).. i experience this at work also when i am working in front of the computer with my arms resting on the table. My EMG came back normal just 3 weeks ago.. i even asked the neuro about this but he said this is ok and nothing to worry about. I heard about cubital tunnel syndrome but i am not sure if i have this... but it seems that this feeling only affect these 2 fingers in both my arms..Any advice would be great. thanks!

yes.. actually by the time i leave for work it will be ok.. back to normal functionality.. it will be only be back if i leave my arm on the desk for a while... sigh... frustrating..

This is incredibly common. I've not only had it happen during sleep, but also during panic attacks. I have no idea for sure what is causing it, but I know there are tons of us here who have experienced the very same thing. Wish I could be more of a help.Frances

Someone new just made a post on the EXACT same fingers today doing the same thing... Yeah if they work after a while then no worries. I've had it where I've woken up with like a numb arm! But that's only if I've slept in a certain position. I don't think it's much to worry about. My toe stays numb!!

The very first symptom I had in the run up to twitching was numbness in the tip of the little finger (pinky) on my left hand, followed by intense burning in the left shoulder. At first my doctor suspected ulnar nerve entrapment; the physio thought it might be cubital tunnel syndrome. Personally I think it was the very beginning of benzo withdrawal, which, for some reason, tends to focus more on the left side of the body than on the right. If you work a lot at the keyboard, you might want to check out the possibility of either ulnar or cubital issues.

hi everyone, the numbness has reduced significantly... i think what i did was to instead sleep on my side and tuck my right arm (if i am lying on my right).. it would make sure that the arm is straight and also warm up the arm.. sounds weird but it helps! i would wake up with my fingers functioning ok. :) sound crazy but hack.. anything works i am up for it.. haha.. I also bought the equipment called flextend (hasnt arrive yet), think it will help further to strengthen my hand muscles also. :)
