I get this from time to time. Eventually "covers" my whole eye (both sometimes - although one gets it and then the other) except the pupil, where I can still see fine. The whole episode comes and goes in around 30 - 45 minutes, and quicker if I lay down and relax. I compare it favorably to looking through a caliedoscope.
I never get the headaches, and my doctor says that is more rare, but very LUCKY for me. I know several other non-twitchers who get the same thing.
I've found it to coincide with "bad periods" of BFS too, but not always. I got one about two weeks ago, and narry a twitch all day.
