Not Looking for Stimulating Dialogue

LOL. Thanks for the clarification 6thfloor4lane. We don't get the Spanish Channel up here in Canada, at least I don't think so. We have French, but I don't think the T & A is any different than the English side. Hmmm, I'll have to take a gander next time I'm in the States. Although, I do prefer to take my gandering to the streets.

YES, cannabis DOES help twitching. I am in the process of receiving my degree in organic chemistry at my college and I've read many chemistry journals on this subject exhaustively. The short, simple answer without all the mumbo-jumbo put into layman terms is THC, the primary active constituent in cannabis binds to most cannabinoid receptors resulting in muscle relaxation. I can also testify from direct personal experience. It is prescribed in some countries for epilepsy and to a lesser degree twitching. I know a few epileptics who can attest to this as well.As for the negative sides of Cannabis?...none. besides getting arrested. erowid.org is an amazing organization that documents the effects of MANY psychoactive substances which is an incredible vault for information.on a side note, a general rule(however everyone is different):stimulants=twitching++ ( huge threshold in twitching)depressants=twitching- (marked decrease in twitching)anti-anxiolytic(anxiety meds ex: Valium(Diazapam),Klonopin(Clonazapam),Xanax(Alprolozam)=twitching--- (way less twitching)hallucinogens(cannabis,LSD, Psilocybin mushrooms, DMT, mescaline)=twitching-- (not quite as effective an benzoepidine's/anti-anxiety yet much more effiecient than depressants such as alcohol)hope that helped. for any related pharmaceutical questions you can PM me since it is my field of expertise and i'm more than welcome to aid.

I'd rather take the natural stuff than the benzos. Sign me up! It is stupid the way the laws are set up in the US when it comes to cannibis and medical treatment. This is all natural and the only reason it is aoutlawed is because anyone could grow and the plant themselves. Again big brother trying to tell you how to live. On another note I do believe that an accident or death caused my someone using cannibis should be punished 2x harder that anyone else fro their crime. However, these people generally enjoy cartoons and high sugar cereals at home. The problem is that it leads to harder drugs like coke and crack as the effects wears off. But is it any different from the medication we recieve. Again I 'll take thre natural gamble myself....if I could!

The best is just doing nothing about it and spend some time outdoors and doing sports (with no excess). That's all it takes to get better.Fasciculations will remain, but you'll feel a great deal better indeed.

Can only weigh in to say that alcoholic drinks seem to temporarily (as in, for a couple of hours) make my internal tremor sensation less bothersome. Not sure whether I twitch less or just care less!I thought this was some freaky observation until I learned online (confirmed by a neurologist) that it's documented that Essential Tremor (and apparently the subset of "internal tremor") is relieved by alcohol -only temporarily, alas. Makes sense, as alcohol suppresses the CNS. Many on this board say the aftereffect of alcohol consumption is INCREASED twitching, although I haven't noticed that.--alyLeoNCali

Lee,For me acohol does provide some immediate relief of my symptoms. I, like you, and not sure if they are calmer or I care less. However, after 5 or 6 post drinking my symptoms seem to intensify. Probably something to do with my elctrolytes being out of whack.CDC

¡Hola! My personal experience is that cannabis does not help me - it does make me care less about it (and everything else) so that may help some who have anxiety about their condition. But I'm not much for enjoying altered states so I'd have to say it doesn't work for me. We have to remember that all people react differently to drugs; my neurologists is constantly saying that this is very pertinent for neurological conditions. I'm sure that general statements are somewhat accurate and apply to the majority of tested subjects, but we BCFS'ers are already out-lyers.Alcohol does sometimes seem to help me but only if I stay away from the dark liquors (see post on Congeners). I'm sure dehydration is not good for our nerves or muscles so if you drink that much and do not rehydrate ......Generally, what makes me feel better is some exercise that increases my circulation - it always works when I can make myself do it. Bad days when I can't THAT'S when the vodka comes in handy.......¡chao!

I give up objecting to Ed...I guess we are under arrest Becky. Hey!! I bet he would let us off the hook if we acted like those girls on that one "Cops" episode...remember they were totally tipsy and after the cop pulled them over, when he went back to his car to check their license the girls saw a sprinkler on a golf course or something so they stripped butt nakked and ran through it!! That sounds more fun than smokin' anyways... ;)

Busted? Hahahahaha - you would not believe the amount of stuff I've tried to thwart this condition - I'm basically a very creative thinker. But the look on the neuro's faces when I told them about trying weed =PRICELESS.Ed, you really have to get a life and stop looking through all these old posts........I suggest trying the flying trapeze - in the rush of jumping off the platform you will have no twitches at all. I hear there's a good one in your area - something to get you out of the forum for a while and keep you off the police beat.....

I tried it a few times as a kid, lol. And I can tell you it increased my sensitivity to everything. Even taking a shower felt weird. Although that could have been the pcp. Who know LMAO.

I live in a college town, and it recently opened up a medical-marijuana clinic. Interesting....scripts written for all kinds of maladies are being written for the aged 18-30 population. Who woulda thunk it?? :) If not for the children, I would be game.
