No Replies to Posts - Hand Cramps

Well, here's my reply.Do you feel less nervous now?Adiós Amigo,EduardoBTW, nobody is answering bc your issues are incredibly usual around here. Come on it's Sunday, stop the worrying and plan something fun to do with your family.

If you don't get replies sometimes its just because not many people are online and as Ed said - it's a common symptom. Just use the search function for "hand cramps" and you'll see. I've had them as have most people that have bcfs and they're not much of a bother - you can get to them for massage and they often work themselves out on their own so no big deal. You have to get past the stage of freaking about every little thing - focusing on minutia with bfs/bcfs is about the same as having a beautiful house/apartment and focusing on this one spot on the floor in the closet that won't come clean. You can ruin your enjoyment of what gifts you do have this way and it is self-defeating. Most of us who have been around here a while have learned that trying to get anxious bfs'ers to stop this is a lesson in futility.

I and several others on this board have a constant contraction in our hand or hands that can be referred to as a palmaris brevis spasm. Search this term on the board or under my user name and you will find the posts. Mine has been going on constantly for at least 10 months. I have never looked at it and been unable to see it. It does not cause pain because it is a small muscle below on the palm of my hand below the pinkie finger.Hand cramps in general are not that uncommon even in the general population. Writer's cramp is a frequent phenomenon and probably everyone has had a foot cramp. The hands, feet, and calves are probably the most common cramp areas for everyone (bfs or not) so someone with bfs is bound to be more prone to hand cramps.Krackersones

I have developed a crampy pain in both hands recently and this has given me a bit of a fright as I have never had this before with my BFS. I don't know if it is a coincidental problem or whether it is part of my BFS.RegardsSimon

for anyone who is reading this, this website has actually skyrocketed my anxiety. after searching "hand cramps" I read something written by Aaron that said charlie horse cramps are not associated with bfs. These are the types of cramps I am having.

1) If this site is skyrocketing your anxiety, don't come. If it hurts your recovery, it's not worth it. Different things help different people with BFS. If this isn't your answer, try something else.2) What is the definition of a charley horse cramp? I guess my point is, how do you know that your definition is the same as Aarons? Isn't a cramp a cramp? And isn't the "c" in BFCS cramping? Try to relax! I know it's tough...

No!For many years I have been waking up with dead hands. I have even been operated on and I thought that would be an end to it, but you know what, I wake up with a dead right hand again now. Thing is when it happens so regularly you kind of get used to it.I know that sounds bad and maybe scary, but the one thing is this, it is something that happens to more people than you might consider, and though it is not a pleasant sign of ageing at all, it certainly is not a sign that one is about to go under with some terrible fatal terminal disease.
