Hi all.i am relatively new to this forum, having posted once last week, receiving a wonderful response.I had a Drs appointment yesterday here in Little Britain, that didnt go as i expected.Whilst there i began to get some really bad foot cramps. As the evening went on i felt a little worse, so forced myself out for a run. i plodded round a 2 1/2 mile route, not feeling too bad on finishing. The problems started when i got out of bed this morning... Almost every part of my body either aches has pain or feels crampy, and my twitching is the worst i have experienced, in my arms, legs stomache and face.I literally feel like ive been hit by a bus!!! Even my head feels 'wooly'. I had to cut short a phone call as my hand was trembling so much.has anyone experienced a sudden / sharp onset or increase in their symptoms like this? If so, any tips to avoid or assist the symptoms?Sorry to whinge... Feel a bit lost at this point in time.Dave.

Hi Dave,I am sorry that you are experiencing this. I have not had a sudden flare up in symptoms overall like this yet. I have had a day or two where my twitching feels worse than before. Maybe your flare up had to do with your previous exercise the day before? From reading your previous posts, you do obviously have something going on in your system, however you have been looked at thoroughly, almost too thoroughly, by several doctors and they have reassured you it is nothing serious. The very kind but poor folks over at the ALS forums were not very nice to your postings, and for good reason though. What you have is not ALS. ALS does not present the way you are describing. "Pain is ALMOST NEVER a presenting symptom of ALS." This in not my opinion, this is a straight quotation from the director of one of the best ALS centers in the United States. I suggest you learn to live with this benign condition and do things to either alleviate the symptoms or else take your mind off your own body and on onto something else. Like 95% of us here Dave, you too my English chap, need to get some help and work with your anxiety and hypochondria. If that means meds, talk therapy, more exercise/sunlight/healthy food, Chinese herbs, yoga, etc. just find your fix and go with it. Good Luck with trying to deal with the twitching, aching, pains, etc, but most importantly the anxiety that is increasing, not causing, the symptoms to persist. Regards,Greg

Thanks to all for replying . Have to say u really wasn't expecting to wake up to this today, but i guess Tou Cant beat a good surprise !trying to deal with the issues as newcomer is, as everyone here knows, incredibly stressful which has purely compounded any pre-existing anxiety.Raindog ive just read your PM. Thanks for that, your kindness and support is really appreciated. So for.the time.being I'll stick with the 'profen and paracetamol. Thanks againDave

Thanks Raindog... really appreciate your help. still Cant believe what GP said / did... Totallyout of order. Just lost the last bit of respect i had for the NHS! Anyway, thanks once again mate.Dave.

Hi Dave, I get a lot of the stuff you experience and it appears in waves sometimes I guess it's triggered by anxiety but not always. i did have this strange cramping in my left foot and while I was in bed felt as if it wanted to turn inwards, not nice. i have seen specialists regarding fasciculations and sensory stuff many times but to be honest felt that I was a basket case!! seeking reassurance.I know its all freaky but it comes and goes and I am still walking and talking. i have a link to an interesting site i was sign posted too, if you send me a PM sometime I will reply with URL.Martin
