First of all, this is a great sight. It has helped ease my mind tremendously.
I started having twitches everywhere about 8 months ago, especially in my hands and forearm. Didn't think much of it until I woke up a couple nights with tight forearms during high anxiety moments of my life. That is when I really started noticing the twitches.
I went to see my GP about 3 weeks ago and he orderd a EMG, x-rays, and bloodwork. I wasn't nervous until he ordered those tests, then my symptoms became worse. Everything came out normal. I have never been fearfull of the ALS thing, but very fearfull of MS. After the EMG, I started having panick attacks which included jumpy eyes, waking up at night sweating, and having heat rushes up my body. My GP told me it was all stress related and presrcibed Zoloft. I have not had these symptoms in about 2 weeks now and therfore I attribute that to anxiety. My GP told me that I do not have any horrible neurological disorder and none of my symptoms are indicitive of MS. At least not at onset. He said there was no need for me to see a neuro.
I then went to see a 2nd GP for a 2nd opinion. He said I was probably fine and ordered a brian MRI with and without contrast to be cautious. That also came up normal.
Since then, for no apparent reason since all test have come out normal, my anxiety and twitching symptoms are becoming worse. I have twitches throughout my body. I also have tingling feelings throughout my body including my face and feet. Sometimes I'll get some small shooting pains in my leg and arms. Lately my joints have felt achey wich comes and goes and I have slight cramps/soreness in my left calf. My muscles are tight in my right calf on the side of the calf and right shoulder blade. I wake up at night and my hands are numb, but quickly recover when I change positions. My right forearm, hand, and wrist are very tight, sore, and achey. Sometimes I feel week in my right hand but that comes and goes, mostly in the morning. I think it's a "perceived" weakness. It's like I have severe cramps in my hand that eventually go away in a hour or so. I can still perform all fine motor skills with my hands. It just sometimes hurts as I get a popping sensation in my wrist.
I have not been dx'd yet but it sounds like everyone hear has had similiar symptoms and I am a classical BFS case. I think my anxiety is making mine much worse. Although, I have started feeling better the last couple of days that I'm O.K.. I guess I should trust my GP's.
Any insight or help would be greatley appreciated. Thanks for the support!
