I feel better that the neuro exam and EMG went well. But I am going to the neromuscular specialist next Friday. The neuro assured me that it is standard protocal in his practice, especially after a clean exam and EMG in his office, because he is a general neuro, and they are neuromuscular specialists. But after 2.5 years of twitching with no weakness, and what he described as nothing on the EMG that points to ALS, I have to think the neuromuscular specialist won't find anything. But my health anxiety won't let me rest easy (yet). I will with a good exam next Friday.
My two concerns are:
1. Is the neuro not telling me something because he knows I have health anxiety? Or is going to the neuromuscular specislists truly standard protocal after a healthy exam by him?
2. He did the "shock" part of the EMG on two legs and one arm, and then the needle part on just one arm and one leg (and neck). I hope he didn't miss anything that the specialist will find.
Oh well...one more week of worry, then I get my life back....
