New Med and Twitching Questions

My twitching developed after taking a medication by the name of Nitrofurantoin (also goes by Macrobid). Shortly after that I developed increased twitching in my feet.Soon after that I read about youknowwhat that can be the cause of fasciculations, and I've been vibrating ever since. Now 10 months into this. Anyone else take a new med?

I can't say with certainty what caused my BFS to start, but I had started Cymbalta just a few days before the twitching began. I had also been on Prilosec for over 2 years leading up to it. Along with A couple of rounds of Cipro and Levaquin for sinus and bladder infections. Too many medications. Next week will be my one year anniversary of BFS and it has improved greatly, almost disappeared at times. Frances

My twitching started over 3 years ago (no medications involved), but after 1.5 years it eventually faded to nothing. But then a few months later, I started a Prilosec prescription, and after a few months had to double the dose. Shortly after doubling, the twitches were back. So I definitely think Prilosec had something to do with my "relapse."

Prilosec is known to change balance of phosphorus/calcium, so it can provoke twitches...Mine were worse on Rexetine, definietly.

Mine started one week after quitting an herbal supplement. My current neuro's theory was that it was akin to stopping a benzo cold turkey (klonopin, Valium, etc.). We found some journal articles that stated the supplement 's ingredients worked on the brain's GABA system.

Mine started up right after I joined the gym and was going everyday.. that only lasted a month from start to finish because I thought the twitching would stop.. boy was I wrong! Other than that, I have no clue. Was on no meds, don't smoke, don't do anything. I did have a very stressful thing going on and had to make some big life changes but I don't know.. who knows!
